Hello! sky attendant.
In 2023, the "World Aquatics Championships (commonly known as World Aquatics)" will finally be held!
Fukuoka, which welcomes the world's top athletes, is filled with a welcoming atmosphere, with large posters appearing at stations and airports.
At Fukuoka Tower, which is close to the competition venue, special performances are being prepared during the event for the enjoyment of all involved and spectators!
"World Swimming" will be held in Fukuoka! Momochi Beach near Fukuoka Tower is also a competition venue.
"World Swimming" will be held from July 14th (Friday) to July 30th (Sunday). This will be the first time in 23 years that the event will be held in Japan, since it was first held in Asia in Fukuoka in 2001.
At the 2001 Fukuoka Games, Japan won its first gold medal in the synchronized swimming (now artistic swimming) duet, and Kosuke Kitajima, who later became an Olympic gold medalist, also performed well.
Furthermore, Australian athlete Ian Thorpe made headlines by breaking world records in four events and winning six gold medals. This is a highly anticipated tournament where you can see the performance of top athletes not only from Japan but also from all over the world!
Momochi Seaside Park , located north of Fukuoka Tower , is also one of the competition venues. Two events will be held at Momochihama: ``Open Water Swimming'' and ``High Diving.''
Open water swimming, also known as a "water marathon," is a long-distance swimming competition held in natural environments such as the ocean, rivers, and lakes. It is a competition that takes place under harsh environments that are affected by natural conditions such as water quality and weather.
In high diving, women dive from a height of 20 meters and men compete from a height of 27 meters, competing to see how many turns they can make and how beautifully they can turn their bodies.
It's thrilling and thrilling for the viewers too!
It's a 15-minute walk from the Momochihama competition venue to Fukuoka Tower!
It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the competition venue to Fukuoka's landmark , Fukuoka Tower. This is perfect for people who want to enjoy sightseeing in Fukuoka, not just watching the games! You don't have to worry about getting lost, as you just head towards Fukuoka Tower, which can be seen from the competition venue.
If you walk while admiring the unique views of Fukuoka, such as Hakata Bay and PayPay Dome from Momochi Beach, you'll be there in no time!
It is also about 15 minutes by taxi from Marine Messe Fukuoka, the main venue for World Aquatics. Fukuoka Tower is a tourist spot in Fukuoka that you can easily visit.
Observation floor with a panoramic view of Fukuoka city and cafe restaurant in the sky
If you visit Fukuoka Tower, first go to SKY View 123, the observation deck on the third floor of the tower. Enjoy the view of Fukuoka from a height of 123m. You can overlook Momochihama, the competition venue, as well as the cityscape of Fukuoka!
There is also a high diving jumping table! I can feel the excitement at the competition venue!
There are also attractions on the observation floor, including the VR binoculars ``SKY Walk 123,'' which allows you to enjoy a walk in the air at a height of 123 meters, so be sure to enjoy them.
Sunset time and night view are also popular!
Also, if you want to have a relaxing time, we recommend "SKY Café & Dining Refuge". The sky cafe restaurant is located on the second floor of the observation deck, and you can enjoy the spectacular view no matter where you sit.
Purchase official World Aquatics goods and Fukuoka souvenirs!
After enjoying the observation floor, enjoy Shopping on the first floor. The first thing I would like to draw your attention to is the limited time World Swimming merchandise. Towels and washcloths can come in handy during this hot summer while sightseeing!
